Use of Tinctures
Calendula – the use of its tincture helps to get rid of headaches, improves sleep and working capacity. It is applied for hypertension, for diseases of digestive tract, for ulcers, for rickets, cancer, arrhythmia and shortness of breath. Tincture of a calendula quickly liquidates inflammatory processes and purulent allocation for wounds and ulcer processes, accelerates regeneration of skin and healing of wounds and also for skin cancer. Externally it is used as a lotion to treat wounds, ulcers, burns and cuts. It brings good results for mouth, throat and eye disorders. It is also used in gynecology. Combine 20 g of calendula with 100 ml of 70% alcohol. Let stand for 2 weeks, filter and take 20-30 drops 3 times a day.
California poppy-use dried aerial parts. A non-addictive alternative to the Opium Poppy. Used as a sedative for children where there is over-excitability and sleeplessness.
Caraway is a calming herb that will help to ease flatulence. It is particularly helpful in children. It also stimulates the appetite and because it is also an astringent it will help laryngitis, bronchitis and bronchial asthma. The part of the herb to use is the seeds.
Celery Seeds-use dried ripe fruits to use as an anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, diuretic or anti-spasmodic. Great for treating rheumatism, arthritis and gout.
The total list of benefits and treatments for Chamomile is huge-insomnia, anxiety, menopausal depression, loss of appetite, dyspepsia, diarrhea, colic, aches and pains of 'flu, migraine, neuralgia, teething, vertigo, motion sickness, conjunctivitis, inflamed skin. This may seem too good to be true, but it reflects the wide range of actions in the body.
Chaparral-very useful in cases of acne, arthritis, chronic backache, skin conditions of warts and blotches. Also one of the best herbs for cancer.
Red clover is applied for atherosclerosis with the normal arterial pressure, which is accompanied by headaches and ringing in ears. Keep 40 g of flowers in 500 ml of vodka for 2 weeks. Filter, squeeze out and take 20 g before lunch and at bedtime. Continue for 3 months with 10 day's break in the middle. Treatment can be repeated after 6 months.
Coltsfoot-also known as Coachwork, Horse hoof and Foals Foot. Use the dried flowers and leaves. There are useful levels of zinc in the leaves of this herb, which has been known to have anti-inflammatory results. Use for coughs, bronchitis, whooping cough and asthma.
Comfrey-also known as Knitbone. Comfrey has high levels of allantoin which is a healing chemical that stimulates cell growth. This makes it wonderful for internal and external use. Works well for gastric ailments including duodenal ulcers and colitis. Is also beneficial for bronchitis.
Corn Silk-use the stigmas from the female flowers to use as a diuretic, anti-inflammatory or tonic. Corn Silk will help in any irritation of the urinary system.
Damiana is an excellent strengthening,giving energy to nerves and limbs. Damiana has a reputation as a great sexual rejuvenator, particularly in lethargy of the sexual organs. Whether that old wives tale is true or not, it does have a definite positive effect on the central nervous system and the hormonal system as well as being useful as an anti-depressant.
Dandelion-use either the root or leaf. Useful as a powerful diuretic, it is a good source for potassium. Helps in fighting anemia, also used for fever, liver, skin and urinary ailments.
Echinacea is also known as Purple Coneflower. This is probably one of the most widely recognized herbal treatments available today. While most people know it’s usefulness for fighting colds, flue and infections, it is an excellent blood cleanser. It also clears up carbuncles, boils and blood poisoning.
Elecampane is used to treat coughs, asthma, bronchitis, tuberculosis, mucous, kidney and bladder stones.
Eucalyptus is also known as Blue Gum. The leaves and bark are used for a treatment. Excellent remedy for fever, bronchitis and asthma.
Eyebright-this is the main herb for protecting and maintaining the health of the eyes. Acts as an internal medicine for the constitutional tendency to eye weakness. Will also remove cysts that have been caused by chronic conjunctivitis.
Fennel seeds are an excellent remedy for obesity because it reduces an appetite. Also helps in digestion when uric acid is the problem. Is also good for gas acid stomach, gout and colic in infants. Fennel seeds are used to treat insomnia. 50 g of seeds boil in ½ L of red wine for 15-20 min at low heat. Wrap up and steep for 1 hour. Filter, squeeze out seeds and take 50-60 g before bed.
Fenugreek is a excellent treatment for swellings, fever, blood poison prevention and as a tea for sore throat.
Use the seed.
Feverfew-use the leaves to treat migraine headaches, arthritis, dizziness and tinnitus.
Fo-Ti has been used to help memory. It also excellent for mental depression.
